# Create and fulfill kits

> Request parts into a kit, then fulfill it with specific inventory.

## Create a kit

1. In ION, go to the **Kits** page.
2. Click **Request Parts**. ION creates the kit and opens its detail page.
3. Set the **Delivery Location**, where the parts go once the kit is delivered.
4. Set the **Staging Location**, where the parts sit while the kit is being picked.
5. Add the parts and quantities you need using **Add Part to Kit**.

## Fulfill kits

To work through kits, go to the **Kits** page, where you can see every kit and its status.

* **Fulfill several at once:** select the kits and click **Batch Fulfill**.
* **Work a single kit:** open the kit, then for each part click **Select Inventory**, pick the lots or serials, and confirm with **Apply Selection**. To pull the oldest inventory first across the kit, use **Kit FIFO List**.

The **Current Location** column shows where a kit's inventory sits.

  Name locations so an alphabetical sort gives a sensible pick order. Print a
  barcode on the kit cart so scanning inventory in and tracking the kit through
  delivery is one motion.
