# Create a further action

> Open a further action on its own or from one or more issues, and describe the problem you're tracking.

You can create a further action on its own or directly from the issues that prompted it.

## Create a standalone further action

1. On the **Further Actions** page, click **New Further Action**.
2. In the **Create Further Action** dialog, enter a **Title**.
3. Optional: set **Assigned To**, **Expected Completion**, the **Problem Statement**, and any **Associated Issues**.
4. Click **Create Further Action**.

## Create a further action from issues

1. On the **Issues** page, select the issues the further action addresses.
2. In the actions bar, click **Create Further Action**.
3. Fill in the **Create Further Action** dialog. The selected issues are linked automatically.

<Tip>
  Group the related issues under one further action so a single root-cause investigation covers all of them. See [Link issues to a further action](/track-quality/further-actions/link-issues-to-a-further-action).
