# Link records to a further action

> Link the issues, parts, and runs a further action addresses, so related records are investigated under one root cause.

A further action can link the issues that prompted it, the parts it concerns, and the runs that carry out the investigation. Each record type has its own section on the further action, and you link or unlink from there. You can also link an issue from the issue itself.

## Link an issue from the further action

1. On the further action, find the **Related Issues** section.
2. Click **Add Issue** and select one or more issues to link.

To unlink an issue, click the remove control on that issue in the **Related Issues** section.

## Link a further action from an issue

1. On the issue, find the **Further Actions** section.
2. Click **Add Further Action** and select the further action to link.

## Link parts

1. On the further action, find the **Parts** section.
2. Click **Add Part** and select one or more parts to link.

To unlink a part, click the remove control on that part in the **Parts** section.

## Link runs

1. On the further action, find the **Runs** section.
2. Click **Add Run** and select one or more runs to link. To start a new run for the investigation instead, click **New Run**.

To unlink a run, click the remove control on that run in the **Runs** section.
