# Work with an issue

> Comment on, label, and attach files to an issue as you investigate and resolve it.

Comments, labels, and file attachments let you collaborate on an issue and keep supporting material with it. For the issue lifecycle, dispositions, and approval gates, see the [issue overview](/track-quality/issues).

## Comments

The **Comments** section on an issue holds a running discussion of the issue and its reviews. Type in the comment box, then send the comment. To reply to a comment, use its reply control. To close a thread, resolve it; a resolved thread can be reopened later. Filter the feed by **Issue**, **Reviews**, and, when the issue links a run step's procedure, **Procedure**.

## Labels

Labels are shared tags you apply across ION to group related records. To add one, click **Labels** (or **Add labels** when the issue has none), then type in the **Search or create labels...** box and select it. To remove one, click the **X** on the label. ## Attachments

The **Attachments** section holds files such as images, PDFs, and STEP/STP files attached to the issue. Add a file by dragging it onto the section, clicking **Browse files**, or, on a device with a camera, clicking **Take a photo**. To remove a file, click its delete control and confirm in the **Delete attachment?** dialog.
