You receive notifications for the objects you subscribe to, such as issues, procedures, runs, part kits, and purchase orders. See Notification events for the full list of objects and the events that notify their subscribers. ION subscribes you automatically when you:
  • Create an issue, procedure, run, or part kit.
  • Get assigned to one of these objects, including a purchase order.

Subscribe or unsubscribe yourself

On an object, select the bell to Subscribe. Once you’re subscribed, the bell becomes Unsubscribe; select it to stop receiving that object’s notifications. Subscribing to a run also notifies you of its run-step changes and comments, so you don’t need to subscribe to each step separately. When an issue is created from a run step, that run’s and run step’s subscribers are subscribed to the new issue as well.

Add or remove other subscribers

Next to the bell, select Subscribers to open the people list, then add or remove users to control who gets the object’s notifications.
A notification addressed to you personally goes only to you, not to the object’s other subscribers. This covers assignments, requests to approve, review, or sign off, and @-mentions. Everything else, such as comments, status changes, and releases, goes to all of an object’s subscribers. An object can also be assigned to a team instead of a person; the team’s members then receive its assignment, sign-off, and approval-request notifications.
