Add a tool to inventory
- On the Tools Inventory page, click Create Tool Inventory.
- Enter a Serial Number and pick the Tool / Part (the tool model). Both are required.
- Optionally set a Location, a Last Service Date, and a URI.
- Click Create.
Record a tool’s last service date
Open a tool unit to reach its detail page. In the Tool Information card, set the Last Service Date with the date picker. The change saves automatically. The Service Interval shown next to it is read-only and comes from the tool model’s maintenance interval.Track maintenance status and service due
Each tool unit shows a Maintenance Status badge and, while in service, its Service Due date. ION derives both from the model’s maintenance interval and the unit’s last service date. For additional tool-availability behavior, such as integration with a tool management system, contact your Customer Success Manager.
Move, print, or view history
On a tool unit’s detail page, click Actions to open the Tools Inventory Actions dialog, which has Move, Print, and History tabs. To print barcode labels, use the Print tab; for label setup see Print a label. To remove a unit, open the … menu and click Delete.Add labels to a tool unit
Labels are shared tags you apply across ION to group related records. For creating and deleting labels in the shared library, see Labels. To add a label, click Labels (or Add labels when the tool unit has none), then type in the Search or create labels… box and select it. To remove one, click the X on the label.Attach files to a tool unit
Attach files such as images, PDFs, and STEP/STP files, up to 100 MB each.- On the tool unit, find the Attachments section.
- Add a file by dragging it onto the upload area, clicking to browse, or taking a photo on a device with a camera.
When a file is attached through a file-type custom attribute, the delete dialog offers Remove from attribute (keeps the file but detaches it) and Delete permanently.
