  1. Download Zebra Browser Print, available for both PCs and Macs.
  2. Follow Zebra’s Browser Print installation instructions. The article covers Mac, and the steps are nearly identical on a PC.
  3. Select a default printer in the Browser Print settings.
  4. In ION, go to Settings > Organization > Barcode Labels and make sure Use print server is off.
  5. Open the Barcode Label dialog and select a printer in the Printer picker. Printers populate from the Zebra app. If you have not created a template yet, follow the steps in Create label templates.

Troubleshooting

  1. Make sure your computer and printer are on the same network. The browser can only reach printers on the same network.
  2. When the printers appear in the Zebra Browser Print application but not in the ION Barcode Label dialog, open the Browser Print status page in a new tab. You might need to authorize the browser to connect to Zebra Browser Print. When the printer can’t be reached, the Printer picker shows a Check the status link to this page.
Printing to the default printer with Zebra Browser Print can fail. When printers show in the Printer picker but printing returns an error:
  • Add the printer manually in Zebra Browser Print under a different name.
  • Leave the printer unset as the default.
  • Select the printer you just added in the Printer picker when you print.
