Cycle a kanban kit
- Pre-assemble the kit into a container in inventory.
- Send it to the production line and install the parts.
- When the kit is empty, de-kit any parts still attached to it: on the Kitting page, expand each line’s kitted rows and click Remove all, which un-kits the inventory back to its source location and keeps the line for the next cycle. To move all of the kit’s inventory to one location at once, use Stage Inventory in the kit’s More actions (⋯) menu.
- Reopen the kit from the More actions (⋯) menu to request a refill: Reopen as In Progress (a completed kit tied to a run reopens as Delivered first). Then send the container back to the warehouse.
Kanban kitting is for discrete BOM-controlled parts consumed in a repeatable kit pattern. For high-velocity consumables that don’t need kit-level handling, such as fasteners, adhesives, and lubricants, see Line-side inventory instead.
