The procedure print preview renders a procedure as a paginated report you can print or save as a PDF. It carries the procedure’s data, including every step’s content, fields, custom attributes, part requirements, and datagrids.
  1. Open the procedure and choose Print from its More options menu. The print preview opens.
  2. In Print options, clear any section you don’t want in the report. Every section is on by default:
    • Description
    • Procedure Information
    • Steps
    • Step Fields
    • Step Attributes
    • Step Part Requirements
    • Associated Parts
  3. Click Print or download PDF, then use your browser’s print dialog to send it to a printer or save it as a PDF.
  4. Click Back to procedure to return.
Your section choices are remembered for the next time you open a preview.

What the report contains

Steps are numbered as an outline (1, 1.1, 1.1.1) and nest to any depth. Per step, the report renders:
  • The step’s content.
  • Data-entry fields, read-only, labeled with the field type as the procedure editor names it.
  • Custom attributes as key/value rows, with dates in your organization’s date format.
  • Part requirements, with the part number, description, quantity, and reference designators.
  • Datagrids in full, with their columns and rows.
A step added from a standard step renders the current standard step’s content.
File attachments are listed by filename; their contents aren’t rendered into the report.
A datagrid wider than the printed page is split into column groups, each labeled with the columns it covers, so nothing is cut off. A long datagrid repeats its header on each page.
